Cora hanging – a suspension lamp design by Serena Confalonieri for .exnovo – is exposed in Mexico City on the occasion of Design Week Mexico.
Cora has decidedly feminine lines and a retro inspiration. On the one hand the volume of the lampshade is reminiscent of the soft, rounded shapes of the sixties. On the other, there is a strong decorative note that is evocative of guilloches, with their subtle decorations of metals and filigrees of the late 19thcentury. But rather than being engraved on a solid material, these lines become the structure of the lampshade itself, creating a weave with a highly decorative impact. The continuity of the structure of the lampshade gives the lamp solidity.
We are very proud that Cora is part of the exhibition. This 2015 edition views Italy as Guest Country of the show, seeking to spread the philosophy behind Italian design presenting conferences, collaborations, interventions, projects, documentaries and ideas.
